PHOTOGRAPHY & JERUSALEM... Under Construction. The windmill above was named after Sir Moses Montefiore, who helped establish
the first community outside the Old City walls of Jerusalem, in 1891.
One hundred years later in 1991, Caroline Myss, best selling Author and International Lecturer, said to a crowd of 300
gathered in Scotland, "You've got to reverse the current and take your power back." My "Power" is in the
images I create, along with continual striving for quality. A semi-retired Photojournalist, I wonder if it really matters
whether one shoots film or captures images, digitally? Perhaps of greater importance, is mastery of the media and reaching
beyond one's comfort zone.
Although I've been into digital work since 2003, I love classic film cameras such as the Leica M2, Fed-2, Zorki-4, Bessa
R, Nikon and OM-1 SLR systems. Will film totally disappear in my lifetime? I don't think so. Some years ago, an Argentinean
friend gave me the nick-name "miguel," and I added a favorite number, thus miguel-36.
Cheers & Shalom from Jerusalem,
miguel-36
